In Sanatan Dharma, every full moon (Purnima) holds spiritual importance, but the Kartik Purnima is considered the most sacred of all. Falling in the month of Kartik, this day is dedicated to fasting, bathing, charity, and devotion. It is believed that performing rituals on Kartik Purnima grants eternal virtue (akshaya punya) and immense blessings from Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
Apart from bathing and donating, lighting lamps (Deep Daan) is a key ritual of Kartik Purnima. Let’s understand how many lamps should be lit and what is the right way to perform Deep Daan.
