When is Kartik Purnima 2025?

According to the Vedic calendar, the Purnima Tithi begins on November 4 at 10:36 PM and ends on November 5 at 6:48 PM.
Since the rising moon date is considered in Sanatan tradition, Kartik Purnima will be celebrated on November 5, 2025 (Wednesday). Devotees will observe the fast, take holy baths, and perform charity on this day.

How Many Lamps Should Be Lit?

On Kartik Purnima, lamps filled with pure ghee or mustard oil should be lit at home.
It is considered auspicious to light lamps in odd numbers—such as 5, 7, 11, 21, 51, or 101.

Lamps should be placed:

• In the courtyard

• On the terrace

• At the main entrance

• Near the Tulsi plant
